During its 16th session, the Human Rights Council extended the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on human rights defenders, and elected six new members of the Human Rights Council Advisory Committee, appointing Maina Kiai as the Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association.
In 2008 (Brussels), 2009 (Washington), 2010 (Warsaw) and early 2012 (Geneva), 4 “inter-mechanisms” meetings were organised by the Observatory, gathering IGO human rights defenders’ protection mandate-holders (more…)
